About Tri-Lobular Security Bits
Tri-Lobular security driver bits have a three-lobed recess sized by tip dimension and lobe geometry. Niche tamper-resistant fastener drive used where Torx and Post Torx are widely available and a less-common drive is needed for higher security. Most-used on industrial equipment.

Security drives are not formally standardised across manufacturers - dimensions are per-manufacturer published specs. Confirm the bit fits the fastener before committing to a large order.
That's the security feature: the matching bit must be sourced specifically. Security Fasteners are intentionally hard to remove without the matching tool. Sourcing both together is the standard practice.
Snake Eye and Tri-Lobular use thin walls around the security feature - they're more fragile than standard Torx or Hex. Apply hand or low-torque cordless pressure only.
Snake Eye: two-hole spanner-style security screws. Tri-Lobular: three-lobed industrial equipment security fasteners. Each is a separate bit - not interchangeable with the other security drives.
How to Measure
Sizing Tri-Lobular security bits have a three-lobed recess sized by tip dimension and lobe geometry. The bit must match the fastener exactly - lobe-to-lobe distance varies by manufacturer. Common on industrial equipment where the bit is supplied with the unit.
How to measure a driver bit Pick the bit by the three-lobe size number printed on the bit. The shank is the bit's clamping end - 1/4" hex is the universal standard across cordless drivers, impact drivers and bit holders. The overall length determines reach: 25mm insert for general use, 50mm to 90mm power bits with a torsion zone for impact drivers, 116mm for Hilti autofeed, long-shank Allen keys for recessed socket cap screws. Cross-check the tip dimension against the screw head before driving - an undersized bit cams out and strips the recess.
Measurements Accurate to the relevant standard and should be used as a guide only. They are either hand-measured or taken from suppliers' catalogues. We only stock Alpha for this product; substituting another brand is rare and would always be confirmed with you first.
Magnetism
This product is magnetised. The tip / cup retains a fastener through alignment and engagement, which speeds work in overhead, awkward or one-handed install scenarios. Across the wider Driving range, magnetised bits, holders and nutsetters speed install by holding the fastener on the tip through alignment; non-magnetised tools are preferred for electronics, magnetic-sensor proximity and any work where stray magnetism on the fastener would cause downstream issues.
