About Scissors & Snips
Sterling Black Panther stainless industrial snips for sheet metal, banding strap, plastic and packaging. Straight, left-cut and right-cut variants stocked in 185mm to 250mm overall length. Snips have shorter, heavier blades sized for sheet metal, light gauge wire, plastic strapping and tougher fibrous materials; the Black Panther industrial snips at 185-200mm handle most metal sheet up to about 1.2mm without distorting the cut. Scissors have longer, thinner blades for fabric, paper, cardboard, light plastic and serrated tailoring work. Match handle ergonomics to the job duration: straight handles for short cuts, offset handles for repeated cutting where wrist fatigue matters. Serrated blades grip slippery material (silk, vinyl) better than smooth blades.

Length The size quoted is the overall length - measured end to end.
Snip and scissor sizing Two measurements matter when picking snips or scissors: overall length (the full tool handle-to-tip, stocked from 140mm up to 300mm) and cutting capacity (what the blade can cut cleanly without strain). Shorter tools (140-185mm) give you more control for detailed work; longer tools (250-300mm) give you more leverage for thicker stock.
