M6.5 (6.5mm) H-IT Anchors are the stainless steel hammer-drive H-IT anchor for fast medium-load fixings into solid masonry. The strike-style hammer-set anchor combines a nail through a sleeve in one piece - drill the hole, drop the anchor through the fixture, hammer the pin home. Faster than a threaded fixing where load is light to moderate. Used for cable tray brackets, conduit clips and lightweight wall mounting.

H-IT stainless steel hammer-drive anchors - pre-assembled anchor with a pin that drives home with a hammer to expand the body within the hole. Used for fast medium-load fixings into solid masonry where stainless corrosion resistance is required.

What is this anchor and how does it install?

A stainless H-IT strike anchor - pre-assembled body with a steel pin pre-loaded inside. Drill the hole through your fixture and into the masonry, push the entire anchor through in one piece, then hammer the projecting pin home to expand the body against the substrate.

Fast single-piece install - no setting tool, no separate bolt. The stainless body suits external and corrosion-prone applications where galvanic compatibility with the fixture matters (stainless balustrade, marine fittings, external signage).

What hole size do I drill?

Drill a 6.5mm hole for this H-IT strike anchor. The hole accepts the anchor body so the pre-loaded pin can deploy the expansion when hammered.

Vacuum or blow the hole clean before inserting the anchor. Drilling dust at the bottom of the hole prevents proper setting and reduces pull-out resistance.

Do I need a special setting tool?

No - a standard hammer is enough. Position the pin head against the work face and drive it home in one or two firm hammer blows.

Make sure the hammer blow is straight down the anchor axis - angling the blow bends the pin and ruins the install. If the pin stops short, the hole was too shallow; drill deeper or step down one size.

What does this hold?

Light-to-medium load fixings - stainless balustrade, marine fittings, signage and external installations where corrosion resistance matters.

Always check the manufacturer load chart for your specific concrete strength and embedment depth. Pull-out resistance varies with substrate density and the anchor's set quality.

Can I remove or service this anchor?

H-it strike anchors are permanent. Once the pin is driven the anchor body is expanded against the substrate and cannot be reset. To remove the fixture, pull the pin out (which expands the body further) and the assembly comes free.

For applications needing removable / serviceable fixings, specify a screw anchor or a sleeve anchor instead.

Material & Coating

Galvanised Hot-dip galvanised carbon steel. The standard outdoor finish; thick zinc coating gives decades of corrosion resistance. The right choice for trailer chassis, mast and pole mounting, structural pipe clamping and outdoor tank fittings.

Important Performance in permanent coastal applications (within 300 metres of the sea) is reduced. Refer to AGA technical bulletins or contact us for the right grade for severe marine exposure.
