300ml Chemical Adhesives are cartridge-dispensed chemical anchor adhesives for highest-load post-installed fixings into concrete and masonry. Two-part injection adhesive cured in the hole around a threaded stud - the chemistry bonds to the substrate plus the stud, distributing load through the full embedment depth rather than at a single expansion point. Used for heavy structural loads in concrete, vibration-prone fixings and proximity-to-edge installations where mechanical anchors would crack the substrate.

About Chemical Adhesives

Cartridge-dispensed chemical anchor adhesives. Two-part epoxy or polyester resin pumped into a pre-drilled hole; the bolt or threaded stud is then driven through and the chemistry cures around it. Used for heavy structural loads in concrete, vibration-prone fixings and proximity-to-edge installations where mechanical expansion anchors would crack the substrate. Brand block surfaces the supplier on each SKU - BNA stocks adhesive cartridges from Iccons, Mungo MIT and other industry brands.

Not sure which resin to use, or how much you need?

Tell the calculator your job and it names the exact product and quantity. Choose the right adhesive (epoxy, vinylester, hybrid or polyester) for your substrate and load, then get the drill hole size, resin volume per hole and the number of cartridges you need.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a chemical anchor and where is it used?
A high-strength masonry anchor that uses a two-part epoxy or polyester resin to bond a threaded stud into a pre-drilled hole. The resin fills any voids in the concrete and chemically bonds to both the stud and the masonry.

Highest pull-out load of any anchor system. Used for safety-critical and high-load fixings: structural steel base plates, machinery anchorage, post-installed reinforcement, balustrade posts on busy facades. Cured chemical anchors approach the load capacity of cast-in studs.

How do I install a chemical anchor?
Stud + Cartridge Adhesive method: drill the hole, vacuum clean, fit the dispensing nozzle to the resin cartridge, inject resin from the bottom of the hole up to fill, push the stud in - rotating gently to distribute the resin - wait for cure.

Cure time varies by ambient temperature and resin type - typically 30 minutes to 24 hours. The product page lists the cure schedule. Do NOT load the anchor before the resin has fully cured.

What hole size do I drill?
Drill at the manufacturer-published diameter for the matching stud - typically 2mm larger than the stud diameter. The annular gap is filled by the resin.

Drill depth equals the published embedment depth on the product. Vacuum or blow the hole completely clean of dust - any remaining dust dramatically reduces the resin's bond strength.

What load does a chemical anchor hold?
Highest pull-out rating of any post-installed anchor system - typically 5kN to 50kN per stud in standard concrete depending on stud diameter and embedment.

Always check the manufacturer load chart for the specific concrete strength, embedment and edge distance of your application. Chemical anchors are sensitive to concrete strength variations and to install temperature - read the data sheet.

Can chemical anchors be installed overhead?
Yes - special overhead-grade resin variants are formulated not to drip from the hole during cure. Standard horizontal-grade resin sags and is not suitable overhead.

Check the resin product page for overhead approval. Use the matching allthread stud sized to the anchor system.

How to Measure

Chemical anchor sizing The stud M-size matches the drill bit (M10 typically = 12mm hole; refer to the supplier specification sheet for the exact hole-diameter table). Overall stud length covers embedment depth (from the load-rating table on the adhesive datasheet, typically 8-12 times stud diameter), fixture thickness, and nut + washer above the substrate. Hole depth, hole diameter and adhesive cure time are interdependent - work from the adhesive datasheet for the specific system being installed.
