About Drop In Anchor Tools
Precision setting tools for drop-in masonry anchors. Inserted into the anchor body after the anchor sits in the pre-drilled hole; struck with a hammer to set the internal expansion cone. Anchor-size-specific tool sizes stocked.

Each anchor diameter takes a matching setting tool size - the tool is anchor-size-specific. See our Drop In Anchors range.
Using an undersized setting tool fails to expand the internal cone; using an oversized tool can split the anchor body. The product page states which anchor size this setting tool fits.
Hold the anchor body flush with the substrate, insert the setting tool into the anchor, and strike the setting tool head with a hammer until the shoulder bottoms against the anchor lip. The internal cone is now driven home and the anchor is set.
Confirm the setting tool diameter matches the anchor diameter exactly. Re-seat the anchor flush with the substrate face. Strike with firm hammer blows until the setting tool shoulder bottoms - partial setting leaves the anchor unable to develop full pull-out load.
Buy the tool and matching fasteners together so the install fit and torque match exactly.
Material & Coating
Zinc Electroplated zinc on carbon steel. A thin (5 to 12 micron) bright (clear-passivated) zinc layer applied by electrolysis. Bright silvery finish.
