About Hollow Wall Anchors

Zinc silver plated hollow wall anchors with Phillips / Slot drive for fixing into plasterboard, fibre cement, hollow block and other hollow wall constructions. The anchor expands behind the sheet to spread load across a larger area than a plain screw could provide.

Recommended use Fixings into hollow walls - plasterboard, gyprock, hollow brick, hollow block, partition panels. Used for cabinetry, towel rails, mirrors, light fixtures and equipment mounted to cavity walls where the anchor must deploy behind the panel face.

Material & Coating

Zinc Electroplated zinc on carbon steel. A thin (5 to 12 micron) bright (clear-passivated) zinc layer applied by electrolysis. Bright silvery finish.

Important NOT suitable for outdoor, wet, marine or treated-timber applications. The thin coating is consumed quickly by rainwater or treated-pine preservatives. For outdoor use, specify hot-dip galvanised.

How to Measure

Hollow wall anchor sizing The grip range (e.g. "0-4mm" or "4-12mm") is the panel thickness the anchor accepts. Pick the anchor whose range covers your wall thickness - too short and the anchor will not deploy behind the panel; too long and it will pull back through. Drill the hole diameter listed on the anchor specification, push the anchor through the panel, and drive the screw to deploy the back legs.
