Description

Hex Flange D-Lok Bolts are the highest strength hex head metric bolts we stock, they are approx. 20% stronger than a class 10.9 and 40% than class 8.8. The bolts feature a flange under the head which eliminates the need for a separate washer and are serrated to lock and clamp the connection. It is fatigue resistant and re-usable with no decrease in performance
Applications: Equipment and machinery with constant vibration, forklifts, truck and large vehicles, mining equipment, motor bikes, conveyors and materials handling equipment, defence and military vehicles
Material / Coating: D-Lok bolts and nuts are coated with a Zinc Flake Coating which is hydrogen embrittlement risk free. Prior to this coating being available there has always been a risk that if the high tensile bolt wasn't plated correctly, and it can be hard to tell either way, failure could occur. Zinc Flake Coating bolts from Hobson resolve this. Test certicates and reports are available upon request. The coating is relatively new to the fastener industry, it has a similiar colour and appearance to mechancial galvanising and in sea salt testing results showed to last approximately 25 years in C4 environment or approximately 15 years in C5 environment
***IMPORTANT****NOT COMPATIBLE WITH GALVANISED FASTENERS: Galvanised bolts and nuts are made oversize to fit Galvansied bolts & nuts due to the thickness of the plating, whilst their appearances are similiar they are not to be used on zinc flake product. Material Strength: Bolts are made to class strength 12.9. They have a yield strength of 1220 and the tensile strength is 1220 Mpa compared to 8.8 yield strength of 640 and the tensile strength is 800Mpa
Thread Pitch (Metric): Pitch means the distance between the peaks of two threads along a screw, bolt, or fastener expressed in millimetres (mm). Used when referring to Metric parts. For example, a thread pitch of 1.50mm means that the distance between one thread and the next is 1.50mm
Fastener length: is generally measured from the point where the surface of the material will be when the fastener is installed to the end of the fastener. Thus, fasteners with heads that sit above the surface are measured from under the head to the end of the fastener, while fasteners that sit flush with the surface are measured from the top of the head to the end of the fastener
