Two ways to confirm before you order - whichever you already know.

1If you have a screw in hand

Measure across the outside of the thread - not the shank - to get the gauge (a 10g screw measures about 4.8mm). Screw gauges have a wider tolerance than bolts, so treat it as a close match rather than exact. Then measure the length for your head type.

2If you know the gauge

Every product page carries a Screw Gauge and TPI chart for its range - every gauge links straight to the product. For metal: coarse threads bite and hold thin sheet; fine threads (higher TPI) give more grip in thicker steel.

Painted self drilling screws have the screw head painted to match a specific COLORBOND colour, so the visible head disappears into the cladding panel when installed. The full BlueScope colour chart is covered - Basalt, Night Sky, Classic Cream, Surfmist, Woodland Grey, Monument and 30+ more. Used universally on fencing, shed cladding, patio cladding and any exterior application where exposed unpainted fasteners would visually break the panel.

10g-16 gauge wafer head with painted finish. Coarse self drilling thread, Tek 3 drill point, 16mm length standard. Phillips PH2 drive. The head paint is OEM-matched to the BlueScope COLORBOND chart so the in-place finish on the screw exactly matches the cladding.

GRADES AND MATERIALS

Galvanised Class 3 shank: the screw under the head uses the same galvanised steel as the unpainted wafer range - high corrosion life under the cladding surface. Painted head: OEM colour match to BlueScope COLORBOND warranty colour. Touch-up paint is available for damaged or scratched heads.

DRIVE AND INSTALLATION

Drive with PH2 Phillips bit at 1500-2500 RPM. Run carefully - the painted head is the visible surface and aggressive over-driving can chip the paint at the head edge or dimple the cladding face below. Touch-up paint resolves minor head paint chips after install.

SIZE AND DRILL CAPACITY

10g-16 gauge (4.80mm), 16mm length only. Colour selection from the COLORBOND chart - the per-SKU colour name is on every product page. For colours not in the standard 30+ stocked, Contact us for special order.
