Large Flange Standard

Large Flange Pop Blind Rivets

Choose a large flange rivet when the material under the head is thin, soft or brittle. The oversized flange spreads the clamping load over roughly twice the area of a standard dome head, so plastic, fibreglass and thin sheet are far less likely to crack, dimple or pull through.

How this type works

Oversized flange spreads load across a wider footprint than a dome head. The right choice for thin sheet metal, plastic and fibreglass where pull-through is the failure mode you're designing against.

Drill size

Match the drill to the rivet body diameter plus ~0.1mm clearance. 2.4mm rivet → 2.5mm drill (or 3/32"); 3.2mm → 3.3mm (1/8"); 4mm → 4.1mm (5/32"); 4.8mm → 4.9mm (3/16"); 6.4mm → 6.5mm (1/4").
