Two ways to confirm before you order - whichever you already know.
1If you have a screw in hand

Measure across the outside of the thread - not the shank - to get the gauge (an 8g screw measures about 4.2mm). Screw gauges have a wider tolerance than bolts, so treat it as a close match rather than exact. Then measure the length for your head type.

2If you know the gauge

Every product page carries a Screw Gauge and TPI chart for its range - every gauge links straight to the product. Self tappers carry a single TPI per gauge, so once you have the gauge you have the thread.

Mushroom Head Self Tappers

15 mushroom (flange) head self-tapping screw variants in 6g, 8g and 10g. The integral flange spreads load over a wider footprint than a pan head — making this the right choice for thin sheet metal, plastic and weather-strip retention where pull-through is the failure mode you're designing against.

Materials and coatings

Hardened steel with black zinc plating across the entire range. Indoor-use only — for outdoor exposure, specify a stainless pan or countersunk head instead.

Sizes available

Gauges: 6g (3.50mm), 8g (4.20mm), 10g (4.80mm). Lengths: 9.5mm (3/8") to 12mm (1/2").

Drive types

Phillips (PH1/PH2) across the range.

Standards

AB ANSI B18.6.4 (Type AB self-tapping screw standard).
