Plasterboard Plugs

Plasterboard plugs (also called drywall anchors) are self-tapping plugs that cut their own hole in plasterboard. The plug screws directly into the board face with a Phillips bit; once seated, the standard screw threads into the plug. No drilling required - the plug is the drill, plug and anchor in one.

Also known as: Drywall Anchor, Self Drilling Plug, Bremick Plug, E-Z Anchor, Plasterboard Anchor.

Bremick zinc metal plasterboard plugs, #8 x 31mm size to suit 6g and 8g screws. Limited stock range for the common standard size.

GRADES AND MATERIALS

Zinc plated steel: the plug body is steel for the self-tapping operation; coated zinc for indoor corrosion resistance.

INSTALLATION

Drive the plug directly into the plasterboard with a PH2 Phillips bit - the plug self-taps into the board. Stop when the plug head sits flush with the board face. Drive the matching screw into the plug; the plug expands inside the board, clamping behind the board face.

SIZE AND LOAD

~0.3-0.5kN WLL in 10mm plasterboard. For higher cavity loads, use hollow wall anchors or spring toggles.
