Countersunk head machine screws have a flat-faced tapered head that sits flush with or below the surface when driven into a matching countersunk recess. They provide a clean, snag-free finish on panels, brackets, enclosures and machinery covers where a protruding head would cause clearance issues, injury risk or aesthetic problems.

Also known as: Flat Head Machine Screw, CSK Machine Screw, Metal Thread Countersunk.

Fully threaded with uniform diameter — require a pre-tapped hole or nut. Install into a pre-countersunk hole machined to the correct angle (82° for standard metric machine screws).

DRIVE TYPES

Phillips (PH1 and PH2) — Most common across the range. Matching Phillips bits in our Driving section.

Slot — Traditional slotted drive for electrical, plumbing and heritage applications.

MATERIALS

Zinc Plated — Bright silver, internal use. Standard choice for panels, electronics and general engineering.

Black Zinc Plated — Dark aesthetic finish for architectural metalwork and visible internal applications.

A2-70 G304 Stainless — External and coastal use. Largely non-magnetic — Work-hardening magnetism is normal.

Brass — For electrical, marine, plumbing and decorative applications.

Nylon — For electrical isolation and lightweight assemblies.

THREAD SYSTEMS

Metric Coarse — M2 to M12 across a full length range.

British Association (BA) — 0BA to 6BA for legacy electrical equipment and specialist instrumentation.
