Measure across the outside of the thread - not the shank - to get the gauge (a 10g screw measures about 4.8mm). Screw gauges have a wider tolerance than bolts, so treat it as a close match rather than exact. Then measure the length for your head type.

Bugle batten metal screws combine a curved bugle head with a self-drilling (tek) point that drills straight through steel battens and top-hat framing without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The bugle head self-embeds flush into the board, and the thread draws it tight to the steel for a rattle-free fix.
GRADES AND MATERIALS
Class 3 and Class 4 coated carbon steel. Class 4 suits exposed and treated-timber-over-steel work; Class 3 suits protected interior battening.
DRIVE AND INSTALLATION
In-Hex (Allen) drive for high torque without cam-out. The tek point drills the steel as you drive - keep firm, steady pressure so the point cuts before the thread engages. Match the point's capacity to the steel thickness.
SIZE AND DRILL CAPACITY
Gauges and lengths to suit board-over-steel-batten fixing. The self-drilling point handles light steel battens and top-hat; for thicker steel choose a heavier drill-point screw.
