Anti-Seize

Anti-seize compound is a metal-particle-loaded grease applied to fastener threads before installation. It prevents stainless-on-stainless thread galling, high-temperature seizing in exhaust hardware, and cold welding of fasteners that won't be serviced for years in salty or chemical environments. The Molytec range is the nickel-based standard.

Molytec Nickel Anti-Seize Lubricant in 25g pod (workshop bench), 65g tube (van and toolbox) and larger workshop bulk formats. Nickel-particle-loaded base lubricant rated for service temperatures from -40°C to 1100°C - covers exhaust hardware, marine fasteners, stainless thread engagement and food-grade plant fasteners.

CHEMISTRY AND PROPERTIES

Synthetic base oil loaded with finely milled nickel particles. The nickel acts as a barrier layer preventing thread-to-thread cold welding under high load or high temperature. Nickel is the preferred metal vs copper because it doesn't cause galvanic corrosion in contact with stainless steel and is rated for food-contact equipment.

APPLICATION AND CURE

Apply a thin layer to the male thread before installation - cover the engaging thread length with a uniform film. Don't over-apply; excess just squeezes out and runs. Reduce torque target by ~15-20% vs the clean-dry-thread published value to compensate for the lubricant. For exhaust and high-temp applications, the compound cures to a dry lubricant film as the assembly heats - the protection lasts through repeated thermal cycles.

FORMAT AND SIZE

25g pod (workshop bench format with a brush applicator in the lid), 65g tube (toolbox / van format, applied by direct contact or with a finger), larger bulk workshop containers. The 25g pod covers about 50 small-fastener assemblies; the 65g tube covers about 200.
