Sanding discs are single-layer abrasive on a hook-and-loop backing, used on orbital sanders for surface preparation. The 8-hole pattern matches the dust-extraction port pattern on standard cordless and corded orbital sanders, keeping the work area clean.

Also known as: Hook and Loop Disc, Velcro Sanding Disc, Orbital Sanding Pad, PSA Disc (alternative backing), Sander Disc.

Klingspor PS22K hook-and-loop orbital sanding discs in 125mm 8-hole pattern. Grit range 40 (very coarse) through 60, 80, 120, 180 and 240 (fine finish prep). 28 SKUs across the grit range.

GRIT AND GRAIN

PS22K aluminium oxide on a paper backing with hook-and-loop attachment. Open-coat grain pattern to reduce loading on softer substrates (paint, softwood). The 8-hole pattern matches standard 125mm orbital sanders from Bosch, Festool, Makita, Milwaukee and similar.

USAGE AND TECHNIQUE

Pick the starting grit by the surface condition: 40 grit for paint stripping or heavy mill-scale; 60 for general surface levelling; 80 for blend-after-grinding; 120-180 for paint prep; 240 for finish preparation. Always step through grits in sequence - skipping from 40 directly to 120 leaves 40-grit scratches under the 120 finish.

SAFETY AND RPM

Orbital sanders run at 4-10,000 OPM (orbits per minute) - safe for any rated hook-and-loop disc. Use the sander's dust extraction port; without extraction, wear a dust mask. Discs deteriorate when stored damp - keep stock in a dry place.
