Security Self-Tapping Screws

The standard self-tapper format with a security drive on the head. Type 17 or Type AB point self-cuts into pre-drilled sheet metal or plastic; the drive resists tampering after install. Common in electrical enclosures, IT-equipment housing, public-realm signage frames and any sheet-metal assembly that needs to stay closed.

Sizes & Specifications

Gauges: 8g, 10g, 12g. Lengths: 12mm, 16mm, 25mm, 32mm, 38mm, 50mm. Drives: Pin Torx (T15, T20, T25), Tri-Wing (#1, #2), One-Way slot, Snake-Eye. Head styles: Pan, Button, Countersunk, Wafer. Point: Type 17 sharp self-tapping. Finish: Stainless A2-70 G304 standard, A4-70 G316 for coastal applications.

Recommended Use

Pre-drill a clearance hole in the substrate matched to the gauge (see our Pilot Hole chart on any Self Tappers SKU page). Drive with a matching security bit. For electrical enclosure work use Tri-Wing or Snake-Eye - these are the drives most often spec'd in commercial / industrial enclosure standards. For public-realm signage use Pin Torx - common enough that approved-contractor tool kits include the bit.
