1If you have a screw in hand

Measure across the outside of the thread - not the shank - to get the gauge (a 10g decking screw measures about 4.8mm). Screw gauges have a wider tolerance than bolts, so treat it as a close match rather than exact. Then measure the overall length, head included - decking screws are countersunk.

Every product page carries a Screw Gauge and TPI chart for its range - every gauge links straight to the product. Coarse threads suit treated pine and softwood decking; fine threads suit hardwood boards like merbau and spotted gum.

Decking Screw Bundles

Bundles take the maths out of buying decking screws. Each bundle is sized to a standard deck build (e.g. 40m² deck with 90mm boards at 450mm joist spacing = ~240 screws). Pick the bundle that matches your deck area and timber type, drop it in your cart, and you have enough screws for the job with a few spares. Bundles include the screws only; tools and bits are listed under Decking Tools.

Bundle Sizes

Bundles are sized to deck area. Common sizes: 100 piece bundles (small balcony or step decks, ~15m²), 250 piece bundles (mid-size decks, ~40m²), 500 piece bundles (large decks or 70mm-board decks, ~80m²), 1000 piece bundles (commercial decks or builder stock). All bundles ship in resealable buckets with the screw spec labelled on the lid.

Recommended Use

Choose by deck area and timber. Calculate roughly 6 screws per m² on a 90mm board deck (two screws per board at every joist, ~7 boards per metre). For hardwood decks pick the stainless bundle; for softwood decks pick galvanised Class 4. If unsure on quantity, round up - spares are cheaper than running out mid-build.
