Chemical Studs & Capsules

Chemical anchor studs are the threaded-rod component used with chemical adhesives. The chisel point at the embedded end agitates the resin during installation, mixing the two-part chemistry and seating the stud cleanly in the bonded hole.

Also known as: Chemical Stud, Resin Anchor Stud, Chisel Point Stud, Anchor Rod, Chemset Stud.

Zinc Yellow Class 4 chisel-point chemical anchor studs in M8 x 110mm through M12 lengths. Used with the matching chemical adhesive cartridges and plastic sleeves (for hollow substrates).

GRADES AND MATERIALS

Zinc Yellow (Class 4): yellow chromate passivation over zinc plating - the BNA-standard masonry-fixing finish. Suited to general interior and sheltered exterior installation. For coastal, pool plant or fully-exposed exterior installation, specify stainless A4-70 G316 as special order via Contact us.

INSTALLATION

Inject chemical adhesive into the drilled hole. Push the chisel-point end of the stud into the resin-filled hole. Twist the stud slowly as it enters to mix the resin against the hole wall. Stop when the stud reaches embedment depth (the cartridge spec publishes this). Allow cure per the resin cartridge spec - 10-30 minutes typical.

SIZE AND LOAD

M8 = ~10kN WLL; M10 = ~15kN; M12 = ~22kN typical in 32MPa concrete with vinyl-ester resin. Higher than equivalent wedge anchors thanks to the bonded full-length engagement.
