Shoulder socket screws have a precision-ground smooth cylindrical shoulder between the head and the thread. The shoulder — not the thread — is the functional feature. It provides an accurate, smooth surface that acts as a pivot pin, axle or bearing surface, while the threaded section anchors the screw in place.
Also known as: Shoulder Bolts, Stripper Bolts (in die and mould tooling), Shoulder Screws.
Applications include: pivot points in linkages and mechanisms, guide pins for sliding components, axles for pulleys and small rollers, die and mould stripper pins, and any application requiring a precision cylindrical bearing surface in a tapped hole.
KEY DIMENSIONS
The shoulder diameter (ds) and shoulder length are the critical dimensions — not the thread size. The shoulder diameter is always larger than the thread diameter. When ordering, confirm both the shoulder diameter and shoulder length match your application, in addition to the thread size. Our product specifications include all three dimensions.

Zinc Plated — For general engineering and tooling applications in dry environments.
