Plasterboard Metal Screws

Measure across the outside of the thread - not the shank - to get the gauge (a 10g screw measures about 4.8mm). Screw gauges have a wider tolerance than bolts, so treat it as a close match rather than exact. Then measure the length for your head type.
Every product page carries a Screw Gauge and TPI chart for its range - every gauge links straight to the product. For metal: coarse threads bite and hold thin sheet; fine threads (higher TPI) give more grip in thicker steel.

Plasterboard metal screws are the dedicated fastener for fixing plasterboard onto metal stud framing. The bugle head seats flush in the board face without tearing the paper. The fine thread drills cleanly through the steel stud without stripping. The self drilling point eliminates pre-drilling, so the installer can run hundreds of fastenings per hour on a board-out job.
Also known as: Drywall Screw, Bugle Head Screw, Plasterboard Tek, Stud Screw, Sheetrock Screw.
6g-20 gauge in fine thread - 25mm through 41mm lengths. Bugle head with Phillips PH2 drive. Zinc Yellow Class 4 finish for general indoor and dry-area exterior plasterboard fastening. Length covers the plasterboard sheet thickness (10mm or 13mm) plus the steel stud thickness plus 5-10mm thread engagement.
GRADES AND MATERIALS
Zinc Yellow (Class 2): zinc plate with a yellow chromate passivation. Class 2, suited to indoor and dry exterior plasterboard work. The bugle head is precisely formed so it pulls the board paper flat without tearing - the most common defect with cheaper plasterboard screws.
DRIVE AND INSTALLATION
Drive with PH2 Phillips at 1500-2500 RPM. Use a depth-stop bit attachment to seat the bugle head consistently 1-2mm below the board surface (just below the paper but not so deep that the paper tears). Over-driving tears the paper; under-driving leaves the head proud. The depth-stop accessory is standard equipment on production drywall installs.
SIZE AND DRILL CAPACITY
6g-20 gauge (3.50mm), 25mm to 41mm lengths. 25mm for 10mm plasterboard onto 0.55mm stud, 30mm for 13mm board onto thicker stud, 41mm for double-sheet board onto 1.2mm stud framing.
