Chemical Adhesives
Chemical adhesives are two-part polyester / epoxy / vinyl ester resins that bond a threaded stud into a drilled masonry hole. The cartridge dispenses through a static-mixer nozzle that combines the two parts as they exit. Once set, the bond is stronger than the concrete itself - the failure mode is concrete cone pull-out, not the anchor.
Also known as: Chemset, Hilti Chemical, Resin Anchor, Epoxy Anchor, Mungo MIT, Injection Resin.
Mungo MIT chemical adhesive cartridges plus Mungo mixer nozzles (2-packs). The cartridge format suits standard adhesive gun dispensing.
GRADES AND MATERIALS
Two-part chemical resin: typically vinyl ester or epoxy depending on the cartridge grade. Each cartridge has a specific cure-time and substrate-compatibility profile published on the label. Cured resin is chemically inert and weather-stable for the design life of the installation.
INSTALLATION
Drill the hole to the published diameter and depth. Blow out dust thoroughly - residual dust prevents adhesive bond. Fit a fresh mixer nozzle. Discard the first dispense (until the stream colour stabilises). Inject into the hole filling from the bottom up. Push the stud into the hole; allow cure per the cartridge spec. Cure time varies with temperature.
SIZE AND LOAD
Adhesive WLL is set by the chemical bond + concrete failure - typically 1.5-2x a comparable wedge anchor in the same size. Edge distance and embedment depth follow the per-cartridge spec sheet.
