Mungo Plugs

Mungo MN plugs are engineered nylon expansion plugs with calibrated rib geometry and screw-thread-matched expansion zones. The plug delivers consistent published WLL across the stocked range, unlike generic wall plugs which vary widely in actual expansion behaviour. Used for load-rated wall and ceiling fixing applications.

Also known as: Mungo MN, Mungo Universal Plug, Engineered Wall Plug, Calibrated Plug.

Mungo MN plugs in 4mm x 20mm through 14mm sizes, 28 SKUs covering plug sizes to suit screw gauges 2g through 14g. The screw-size compatibility is published on the plug pack.

GRADES AND MATERIALS

Engineered nylon: the plug body is calibrated nylon with multiple expansion ribs. Inert to masonry contact. The screw is the metallic load-bearer; the plug is the expansion mechanism.

INSTALLATION

Drill the hole to the published plug diameter. Blow out dust. Insert the plug into the hole - hammer flush if needed. Drive the matching screw into the plug - the plug expands against the hole wall as the screw enters. Tighten until the screw head seats firmly.

SIZE AND LOAD

5mm plug + 4g screw = ~0.5kN WLL in 32MPa concrete; 8mm plug + 8g screw = ~2kN; 12mm + 12g = ~5kN. Hardwood and harder masonry can exceed these; soft block and aerated concrete are lower.
