Hex Flange Screw Anchors

Hex flange screw anchors (Xbolt screwbolts) cut their own thread directly in concrete or brick. The anchor is a threaded stud with a special self-cutting concrete thread - drive it into a pre-drilled pilot and the thread cuts a mating helix in the masonry. Removable for rework; no protruding stud; the hex flange head drives with a standard socket.

Also known as: Xbolt Screwbolt, Concrete Screwbolt, Hex Flange Screwbolt, Bremick Screwbolt, Multi-Monti, Wood-Boring Concrete Screw.

Zinc Yellow Class 4 Xbolt screwbolt anchors with hex flange head. M5 through M16 thread sizes, lengths covering 30mm through 200mm. The largest screwbolt sub-cat with 45 SKUs.

GRADES AND MATERIALS

Zinc Yellow (Class 4): yellow chromate passivation over zinc plating - the BNA-standard masonry-fixing finish. Suited to general interior and sheltered exterior installation. For coastal, pool plant or fully-exposed exterior installation, specify stainless A4-70 G316 as special order via Contact us.

INSTALLATION

Drill the pilot hole to the published diameter (typically 1-2mm smaller than the screwbolt nominal). Blow out dust. Drive the screwbolt with a standard socket on a powered driver - the self-cutting thread cuts its mating helix in the concrete as the screwbolt enters. Tighten to the published torque to seat the head and develop full grip.

SIZE AND LOAD

WLL depends on size and substrate. M6 = ~5kN in 32MPa concrete; M10 = ~12kN; M16 = ~28kN. Edge distance and embedment depth follow the per-SKU spec. The screwbolt can be removed and re-installed in the same hole for rework or maintenance.
