Description
- Button Flange Head Socket Screws have a larger bearing surface due to the attached washer under the head, a low profile head and are installed using an allen key. Button socket screws provide a larger bearing surface and a lower head profile than a socket head cap screw and are generally used when the material is too thin to countersink, or decorative finish is desired. Use a hex key also called an Allen wrench or hex power bit to drive a socket screw. The tensile strength isn’t as high as a socket head cap, but as a comparison they are twice the strength of a machine screw

- Can Stainless be Magnetic?: Stainless steels are largely non-magnetic but it is uncommon for some stainless steel fasteners like screws and washers to show a small degree of magnetism due to the work-hardening process during the manufacturing process
- Thread Pitch (Metric): Pitch means the distance between the peaks of two threads along a screw, bolt, or fastener expressed in millimetres (mm). Used when referring to Metric parts. For example, a thread pitch of 1.50mm means that the distance between one thread and the next is 1.50mm
- Fastener length: is generally measured from the point where the surface of the material will be when the fastener is installed to the end of the fastener. Thus, fasteners with heads that sit above the surface are measured from under the head to the end of the fastener, while fasteners that sit flush with the surface are measured from the top of the head to the end of the fastener
