Frequently Asked Questions
Used at the cutting tip of drilling, tapping, threading and reaming operations. The lubricant carries heat away from the tip and reduces friction between cutter and chip.
On taps, apply liberally before the first turn and re-apply every full turn. On drill bits, dab on the tip; for deep holes, withdraw the drill periodically to refresh the compound and clear chips.
On aluminium, paraffin or kerosene works as a cheaper alternative. On plastic and timber, no lubricant is needed.
Different chemistries, different uses. Don't substitute one for the other.
