Description
- Low Head Socket Cap Screws are used in low screw head height applications. The top of the cylindrical head on a socket head cap screw is flat and chamfered, the side may be plain or knurled and the bearing surface is flat. Use a hex key also called an Allen wrench or hex power bit to drive a socket screw. Please note that this restricts the use of these screws to low strength applications
- Grade PLEASE READ PRIOR TO ORDERING: The standard these are made to is covered by Din 7974. This standard specifies product can be either 10.9 and 12.9 grade. Due to stock availability in Australia we will supply either grade, we will not supply a combination of grades for the same size
- Also known as: Socket Head Allen Bolts, Socket Hex Cap Screws, Cap Screws, Allen Bolt, Socket Screws, SHCS
- Material / Coating: Black or plain finish is unfinished (bare steel) has no actual protective coating. You will not have any corrosion resistance and the product will rust over time. The term “black” is an old industry term for plain finish. Depending on the material grade and heat treatment process the colour can vary from a shiny oily finish to a dull black
- Thread Pitch (Metric): is the distance between the peaks of two threads along a screw, bolt, nut or fastener expressed in millimetres (mm). Used when referring to Metric parts. For example, a thread pitch of 1.50mm means that the distance between one thread and the next is 1.50mm
- Fastener Length: is generally measured from the point where the surface of the material will be when the fastener is installed to the end of the fastener. Thus, fasteners with heads that sit above the surface are measured from under the head to the end of the fastener, while fasteners that sit flush with the surface are measured from the top of the head to the end of the fastener
- Measurements: Thread Lengths have been included as a guide only. Due to stock being sourced from multiple suppliers variations do exist. We will always ship the same brand and thread length but subsequent orders may be another brand and the thread length may be slightly different. If thread length is critical, please message us, we are happy to physically check our stock and advise prior to shipping
- Measurements: Every effort has been made to ensure all measurements on our site are accurate and to the relevant standard, they should only be used as a guide. If you see a problem with our specifications please contact us
- Dimensions: Our stock is sourced from various suppliers, therefore differences may exist between batches such as head dimensions, thread lengths visible stamped head markings, appearance or actual finish
- Driver bits to suit:A large range of suitable driver bits are in the "Tools" section of our website
- Photos: are of the product but may not be the actual diameter, height, width, length you may require, always refer to the size in the description and additional specifications data provided prior to ordering
- Updating our site: If you see any problems with any of our specifications or you require additional information please contact us
